Breakfast

This is what I cook for us to have for brekkie almost everyday:

Soba noodles cooked in hot soup made with miso paste and dashi, with cubed tofu and wakame. I'd usually add beansprouts, and sometimes daikon. Pretty healthy really..

  1. Daikon!! A type of radish, right? If you've ever seen Great Teacher Onizuka, you'll remember the dodgy, dodgy ads that he was putting out for some daikon...
This sounds insanely good for you. Better than my average start to the day (anything I can get my hands on - cereal, last night's dinner, spaghetti sauce... jelly...).

  2. Yep, daikon is what I know as Chinese radish. Huge white things. Chai tau kueh (fried radish cake) is super yummy and is made from daikon. My dad does this dish very well. Mmm yum. I miss that...
Bread and cereal are expensive here plus we can only get white bread and the sugary cereals - so it works out healthier to cook noodles for brekkie and doesn't cost more.
Gambatte with your uni work! Not long to go :) Oh and a tip - good nutrition and enough sleep are important for your studies..
