G'day from down under! We are in Australia for the week to visit family (and meet my newest nephew who is only six weeks old), and at the moment we are in Sydney, but will head to Brisbane in a few hours' time. Eating way too much good food and of course enjoying precious moments with family. We knew that this trip and our son's birthday party would prevent us from doing our regular dates, so a few weekends ago, hubby and I stole away from the kids for a couple of hours to have a lunch date at Bread Street Kitchen & Bar. We first went to this Hong Kong replica of Gordon Ramsay's London restaurant in April, and hubby liked it so much that he has suggested more than a few times to go to Bread Street Kitchen again. We got the same friendly and professional service as six months ago, and the bread, coffee and food were also just as good as last time.
A good cup of cappuccino (HK$58):
Hubby's Full English Breakfast (HK$228), which included baked beans, mushrooms, eggs (choice of scrambled, poached or fried), bacon, grilled tomato, hash brown and sausages. A hearty option that hubby enjoyed very much:
I went for the Egg Mimosa with Crab and Mousseline Sauce (HK$138). This was a really good light and refreshing plate. Our waitress thought it may not be substantial enough, but with the egg mimosa portion matched my appetite (which had already been partially satiated by two delicious bread rolls from the bread basket):
As always, hubbby could not resist the lure of sweets, and he ordered a Warm Apple Crumble with Honey Ice Cream (HK$78). It was excellent, and reminded me of the fact that I had not made apple crumble at home for years!
