The whole object of travel is not to set foot on foreign land; it is at last to set foot on one’s own country as a foreign land.” – G.K. Chesterton

First week sans Rob

So how was my week this week? Not too bad actually. It got a bit better when I got internet working at home earlier today (let's just hope I can get it working at work again without too much trouble).

In summary:
I find myself leaving work later than usual.
I cook too much food for one person.
I am studying more Japanese and watching more Japanese programs on TV (though only ~1/2hr each night).
I eat simpler meals.
I don't find it too bad living on my own.

Meanwhile, Rob has been leaving work after 9:30pm every night (that's a >12hour workday!). I worry about him, mostly because when I ring him just before going to bed each night, he's only leaving the office and hadn't had his dinner. Hopefully it will be better next week.

I have a feeling our keitai (mobile phone) bill will hit the roof these next two months..

  4. Hehe, perhaps you can use livejournal instead of xanga - livejournal allows non-livejournal peeps to post comments, whereas xanga seems to be quite exclusive on who can comment.
A Saturday without social plans can suck (unless it's a much-needed rest day). A Saturday without Rob, without plans, without a car, stuck in countryside sucks even bigger time :P So looking fwd to next w/e when I'll be in Tokyo!

  5. I'll answer that when I'm not so gobsmacked over how stunning she is as a person... and in looks too...

  6. If I was there, I'd totally gate crash your Saturday and hold your teddy bears at ransom until you baked cookies...

  7. LoL.. teddy bears? How interesting.. Do I seem so... girly? You don't need to hold any bears ransom for me to bake cookies. Most of my inspiration and motivation to cook is cooking for others (I don't care much for eating my own food). Which is why weekends at home are usually quite busy with cooking and baking. But since there's no one to eat my stuff...

  11. Okay, to answer your question about how things went... things went very well... I very much enjoyed Honey's company... and I would very much like to enjoy it again, preferrably sooner rather than later...

  13. And a fine job Rusty does too. Not once has my car been broken into. *touches wood*
